Metro Chicago Fencing Center offers a world class coaching staff in both Epee and Saber.  Our coaches are truly dedicated to helping you reach your fencing goals.  We know that everyone comes to fencing with different abilities, interests and goals.  We encourage you to communicate these with your coach to make your fencing experience as rewarding as possible. 

 

 

 

Saber

 

 

 

 

 

Mikhail Tsipis is the most recent addition to Metro Chicago Fencing Center.  Mikhail is a four time Ukraine Champion and a two time Soviet Team Champion.  Mikhail has achieved an International Master of Sport in saber fencing. He also teaches our Beginning Saber Fencing Classes.

 

 

 

Epee

 

 

 

 

 

 

     

 

Boris Lukomski is a three time World Champion and winner of the Olympic Bronze Medal in the 1980 Moscow Olympics.  Boris is also the former National Coach of Israel and an International Master of Sport.  Boris coached in Montreal before moving to Chicago with his wife and daughter.

  

 

 

 

 

Matt Morich is an A rated Epee fencer (the highest level awarded by the USFA) and has trained exclusively under Boris Lukomski.  He competes on the National level in Division I events as well as in local tournaments.  Matt is a several time North American Cup (NAC) medalist and in 2004 competed in the US Athens Olympic Trials. He has had several students medal at North American Cups. 

 

 

 

 

 

Erin Miller has been fencing competitively for 6 years is a NAC medalist.  She has trained exclusively under Matt Morich and joins him in coaching our Junior fencers. 

 

 

 

Marijke Morich is the Manager of Metro Chicago Fencing Center.  She also teaches the Beginning Epee Fencing Classes offered at MCFC.  Marijke has a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Northwestern University.  She fenced on the championship women's varsity fencing team at Northwestern.  Marijke is a NAC medalist and has achieved a B rating as well as World Cup points.  She competed in the 2004 US Athens Olympic Trials.
