Classes

 

Metro Chicago Fencing Center offers classes throughout the year. Classes are a fun way to experience what fencing is about and to get some exercise.  You can jump in at any time!  To register please email Marijke at marijkem@sbcglobal.net or call 847-542-2459. 

 

 

Beginning Fencing

 

 

This class teaches footwork and basic bladework skills.  Fencers will warm up, work on footwork, receive a group lesson and have time to fence.  Classes are designed to introduce fencing in a fun group atmosphere.  This class utilizes real fencing weapons.  Participants are required to wear pants and closed toe shoes.  Equipment is provided. Fencers of all ages are welcome.  Fencers will have the opportunity to practice with our club members (ages 6-50+). 

 

A class membership provides 6 classes.  These classes are good for 3 months and are used only when a class is attended.  There is no limit on the number of class memberships a fencer may purchase.

 

  

Beginning Saber Fencing Class -

Saturdays 10-11:30 am 

 

 

 

Registration is on a rolling basis - you may join any Saturday!

Cost:  $150 for six classes

 

 

 

Beginning Epee Fencing Class - Saturdays 1-2 pm 

 

Registration is on a rolling basis - you may join any Saturday!

Cost:  $150 for six classes

 

 

 

Adult Beginning Epee Fencing Class - Saturdays 2:15-3:15 pm  

Ages 18 and up only!  Registration is on a rolling basis - you may join any Saturday!

Cost:  $150 for six classes

 

 

 

Semi-Private Classes

 

We also offer semi-private classes for those interested in a more intimate environment or for those who have specific schedule requirements.  We will work around your schedule and number of fencers interested.  The same coach will be provided for the entire class.  Class length and dates can be tailored to your requirements but must be a minimum of 8 total class hours.
